I am not able to upload the whole Touch The Wall Movie, but that movie has encouraged me to do my best. This is me swimming at Junior Nationals, missing Olympic Trials by .08. (Green Suit)
Touch the Wall is a documentary of Olympians Missy Franklin and Cara Lynn Joyce. It shows their journey together leading up to the 2012 Olympic Trials in Omaha. They message of this movie is showing that change is a good thing. In the movie Cara Lynn, 24, moves to Colorado to swim with Missy Franklin, 16. This was a huge move for her because she began training with high school kids again. Just 2 months before Olympic Trials though, Cara Lynn decides to switch her training program and move to North Carolina in her stretch to qualify for the Olympic team. As much as she loved training with Missy, Cara knew that it was best for her to train elsewhere. Cara Lynn and Missy are still great friends today and made the Olympic Team together. Cara Lynn and Missy both narrate the movie by telling their perspectives on training and the many events leading up to Olympic Trials. They are telling the story though their eyes so swimmers truly understand what it takes to be a great swimmer and why they made the choices they did. Touch the Wall geared toward swimmers of all ages. Being an Olympian is almost every swimmer's dream. By watching this movie, you feel like you are experiencing a taste of life as an Olympian. Many other athletes can benefit from watching this. It shows dedication and determination that all athletes can understand. What I took away from watching this movie, is that you have to do what is best for yourself. Do whatever it takes to achieve your goals and you will succeed.
I really like seeing your insight of this event. I was aware that you are a huge swimming enthusiast (and great at it too!) But it's definitely cool that there is a specific event that you draw inspiration from.
ReplyDeleteI'm don't really swim but this sounds like a super interesting documentary, I'll have to watch it sometime!
