"Look Up" Artem Volshteyn

There are many different forms of media that most of us consume every single day.  We have to use some sort of media or technology to get us through the day but most of us don't realize how often we are using it.  Nobody realizes the negative effects that the media can bring until something really gets us to think about it.  One video that made me think about it is “Look Up”.  This video has taught me to be more attentive when using media and to not rely on it as much.  The You-Tube video titled “Look Up”  shows what our society doesn't see, which is the fact that we rely on media so much that we cannot possibly see it as being harmful.  The most common device that we use to consume media is the cell phone.  A cell phone is a huge distraction because of the fact that it is portable and very convenient for use.  “Look Up” is trying to convince you to put down your phone and pay more attention to the real world by showing you the opportunities that you may miss when you are distracted by media.  This video is a powerful message directed towards the consumers of media, telling us to “Look Up” from our phones and not allow the media to influence us.

  1. I agree with you. We need to get off of our phones and explore the outside world. The creator of this video did a really good job sending it's message.
